Meet Our Founder
Certified, independent, and objective
Robert Porter is the founder of Everything Appraised and a certified personal property appraiser with over a decade of experience valuing antiques, fine art, jewelry, and household property. He works directly with families, along with the attorneys and financial professionals who support them, to produce appraisals that hold up for estate, insurance, donation, divorce, and guardianship purposes alike, and he appraises vehicles, boats, and equipment on the same standard. He does not appraise real estate.
Robert Porter does not buy or sell the property he appraises and does not take a commission. That separation is what keeps every valuation objective — an appraiser with a stake in the outcome is not an appraiser.
He is committed to ongoing education to stay current with appraisal methodology, market trends, and industry standards, and holds every engagement to strict confidentiality.

How It Works
Four steps, anywhere in the country
Most appraisals here are remote appraisals — sometimes called desktop appraisals. Nothing is shipped, nobody visits your home, and where you live makes no difference to what it costs or how long it takes. Where an item genuinely has to be seen in person, we say so before you pay, and we quote the visit separately.
- You send photographs and an inventory of the items, with any provenance, receipts, or certificates you have
- We reply with a fixed quote, before any work starts
- We research comparable sales and market data for each item or asset
- You receive a signed, USPAP-compliant report you can file
Gemstones and diamonds need the grading report or certificate that came with the stone, because value turns on characteristics no photograph can establish. Artwork does not require documentation, but a certificate of authenticity or a record of provenance will only strengthen the appraisal.
If an item genuinely cannot be valued from documentation — some gemstones and attributions need to be examined in hand — we will tell you that up front rather than issue an opinion we can't stand behind.
